Storyboard Status!

Dad and I got the first 6 pages of Bijou Blackout sketched with dialogue and everything. We've only started on the scene where our crew of critters show up at the theater to tune  into the new Mr. Frog movie.

Have a look at these guys!

Antics are about to ensue...

BIJOU BLACKOUT!

I had a dream back in April where my dad and I went to this really God awful movie theater to see a Smiling Friends movie that recently came out (for those who may be wondering, there is no Smiling Friends movie at the moment). But various antics would ensue, such as the guy over at the snack stand taking a full half hour just to make a large bucket of buttered popcorn, and me falling asleep just as the movie starts once we got to our showing.

Unfortunately for us, this was what got me to watch Smiling Friends, and this resulted in dad being dragged down the rabbit hole with me.

Enter our official short, BIJOU BLACKOUT!!!
Practicing on doing "bubble text"

Dad is currently doing some test sketches for Mr. Frog, Charlie, Pim, and Mr. Boss (he's mastered Alan to an extent since uh....He's been drawn frequently). The only character I can ever really draw "accurately" is Glep. Which led me to....
And get ourselves a treat!

Inspired by this horrifying snack bar ad called "Follow the Sun." Just don't watch it before bed, ok?
I've never felt genuinely shaken in years... And I like it!

Seriously, just don't watch it before lights out.

Summer Project!

Next month will not only be the long awaited summer break, but it will also be my last year of high school. And to celebrate such an achievement, I want to do a Summer project!

See, ever since I was a kid, I've always had a soft spot for those crummy little vending machine toys you could get for just 25 cents at the store.
With these, you could pick from a wide selection of toys or candy. One machine in particular was what caught my attention. While I can't find an image for this particular machine, it was called "Lucky Lucky Me" and housed a variety of figures and shitty yarn bracelets. But one of the things I loved getting the most were these little plastic monkeys.
The first round of these figures were titled "Monkeyin Around" where if you simply inserted a mere 25 cents, you could wind up with 1 of 10 monkey figures! I remember getting one of these way back when, it was specifically the one standing on its head. Either way, these (and a few other quarter machine toys) caught my attention.

Later down the line, they released a new set of these things.
Funny Monkeys is pretty much the same as the previous, except the monkeys were given a variety of different colors! I also had one of these, it was a purple one that was laying down (in the pose of that blue one in the right hand side). Sadly, both monkeys are lost in the zillion bins in our basement, I'll find them someday though.

But as fate would have it, I got another one of these figures this past Saturday when dad and I went to see Sonic 2!
Meet SPIKE, everybody!

Unlike my previous two, the paint job has had a massive downgrade. Which I'm guessing was just the luck of the draw with the batch that was in the machine. Guess I found another reason to stop by the regal cinema!

But what is this "Summer Project" you might be asking.

Well its basically just me buying these puny little figures in bulk off Ebay and maybe making a little something for the channel for my blog that my dad and I use!

Late Nite Doodle

Dad and I are seeing "Sonic 2" tomorrow. I was left in charge of going online and checking the afternoon showtimes.

Featuring a little drawing of Alan in the background.
