Getting Scrappy With It

The following image is from a video I filmed yesterday. Its part of an LPS series called "LPS Beswitched" which has so far, only aired 2 episodes. Thing is, I need to get some more scrapbook paper to use for backgrounds (like when the characters are at school for example). The stuff I have on me looks like something out of a corny sitcom if I were to use it in a school setting. 

Will see if dad and I can make a run to Michaels and Hobby Lobby sometime. It sure as hell won't be this weekend since we're booked to the nines. 
 

Fireflies!

 Made a badge of my Animal Jam character, Wisp. I was initially gonna post it Saturday, but I had the meetup and wanted to charge my camera beforehand. So here you go! 

No Art Today

 My camera is charging up or an all important filming session at my local fur meet. So no new art today. But here's a picture of one of my characters in Animal Jam.

Was gonna post a badge I made of her, but that will be tomorrow...

This One Girl

Took a bit of fine tuning, but here she is.

Still needs work. So much is wonky! The hair is really a problem, so far.
 

Thank God those "evil exes" are gone for good in this series. I initially had plans to include Knives, but her design is so different from the others that I've decided to not have her be part of the project. All episodes will only have the members of "Sex Bob-Omb" and Ramona. 

Now to test the waters with animating.

The OCS From E.G.G.

 Went scrapping through old posts my dad made 15+ years ago. I wound up stumbling about some old drawings we made together. Hence, THIS creation. 

Dad claims his original drawings of the G3 ponies turned out awful, but I disagree. Feel free to travel back in time to see the originals!

And by the way, Spider was a redesign of a drawing my dad made of a kitten that I, for whatever reason, named "Spider."

Some Steps In the Right Direction

 Improvements have been made to Kim. Might use the older drawings from 2 nights ago for a future episode where the characters meet different versions of themselves (will give me an excuse to animate my art style). 

Brainstorming session continues! (might post some artwork her later if I've got any...)

Concept Time!!!!!

Please ignore the three-eyed cat in the corner. Most of this was just messing around and brainstorming some scene ideas, which will be something dad and I can do after dinner tonight.

Will be working on more practice sessions for Kim as well as brainstorming for the episode in general. Might even do some script writing????

Mariel and Craig's "Scott Pilgrimage" Part 2: Kim Pine

 Tasked dad to draw Kim Pine. We're both still practicing for an animated series where, so far, 2 episodes have been created. 

Pretty good for a first try! 

I need to do more work on this. At this point, it just looks like Scott Pilgrim with freckles!

Tomorrow night: Ramona Flowers (who I'll be buying a plush of in the next couple of weeks)...

Mariel and Craig's "Scott Pilgrimage"

 So I've managed to persuade my dad to try drawing Scott Pilgrim characters with me. Specifically because we had brainstormed a short a few months ago where Scott wins one of those radio lottery contests. And I'd need a storyboard artist for this short. 

Now I've been in the SP fandom for almost 2 years now (thanks to my best friend), and started drawing different characters in December 2020, which led my best friend and I to create an AU (alternate universe) on Instagram. Sadly, the only character I've mastered is Kim Pine. 

She's been my favorite character pretty much since the beginning. Sure, I've drawn others like Ramona and Scott, but they really don't turn out like their original counterparts.... So here's my dad's first attempt at drawing Scott. 

Top was copied from reference, bottom was an expression test.

Will see how he does with KP today ;)
